Arivana Project
Advancing community wellbeing and collective resilience to promote peace, justice and socioeconomic equity.
Our Mission
The Arivana Project advances collective wellbeing and resilience by building the capacity of communities and nonprofit practitioners to integrate trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and contextually grounded psychosocial healing into programs for peace, justice and socioeconomic equity. We do this by coordinating and convening experienced partner organizations to co-design and integrate psychosocial healing into programs that are addressing the systemic harm caused by violence, poverty and marginalization.
Through these collaborative pilots, we will document and disseminate effective, contextually and culturally rooted models of trauma healing and psychosocial care that are integrated into community led movements. We will also identify and elevate existing promising models and build the capacity of implementing organizations and funders to understand, adopt, and support these approaches.
Our Approach
-

Co-Designing Promising Models that Integrate Psychosocial Healing
We coordinate and convene experienced partners to conduct contextual assessments and co-design trauma-informed, culturally responsive psychosocial wellbeing approaches that are locally grounded.
-

Sharing Learning to Expand and Strengthen Community Healing
We will document and disseminate learning to support nonprofits, practitioners, and funders seeking to integrate psychosocial wellbeing into community programs.
-

Practitioner Training and Capacity Building
We will design and deliver training programs that build the capacity of practitioners to integrate trauma-informed psychosocial healing approaches into international community led programs.
